Giving the Gift of Paper – Part 1
In reading a magazine I discovered, I came across an artist with a fashion background creating a gem of a gift idea…wedding gown sketches. What a brilliant idea by Kristina Bailey, a new resident of Chicago.
Not only is it a great first anniversary gift of paper, but also a wedding, bridal shower, birthday, significant anniversary idea or a gift to yourself. In short, it is a perfect gift that can be cherished for years to come. What bride doesn’t want to remember her wedding day and dress?!
This is a work of art, so don’t forget to plan ahead. They can take up to eight weeks or more to deliver and the average cost is about $250. The sketches are created with ink and watercolor on archival watercolor paper in standard framing sizes of 8×10 and 11×14.
Kristina says, “Many of my clients have sentimental stories that accompany their dresses. I just finished a dress from a client whose mother made her wedding dress for her in the 80s and I have another client that commissioned a dress sketch to celebrate her upcoming 50th wedding anniversary. Despite the difference in styles, when you capture the details of the dress with paint, they all look timeless!”
No matter the occasion, this is a gift sure to make a splash and maybe even generate some tears. For more details, contact Kristina Bailey at (404) 432-8641 or at www.kbbaileydesigns.com.
